If your new to this Challenge, every day of April, minus the Sundays you blog about the letter assigned for that day. To find out why I’m blogging about what I’m blogging about, then go here. Today’s letter is
Samantha’s word – Jackson
I’m sure this is a friend of hers, but since I don’t know him (or her, never can tell anymore) I will talk about Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I went there probably 25 years ago on a trip with Lifeline, which was more or less a kids club. The trip was a blast and if I remember correctly, we stayed just outside Jackson Hole for close to a week. We went hiking up in the Grand Tetons one day which was awesome, out of all the kids. only 2 made it to the top, me being one of them. We went back to the camp that night and we played basketball. Oh to be young again. I can’t hike to the mailbox without getting winded now. The main thing I remember about Jackson Hole, Wyoming is this.
Trevor’s word – Jack
Jack? Again, I’m guessing a friend of his. But when I hear the word Jack, it’s Jack Baur I think of. If you don’t know who that is then you can just unfollow me now (not really, DON’T LEAVE!!!). Jack Baur would be the character played by Kiefer Sutherland in the TV show “24”. I loved that show when it was on, Jack was bad ass. I’ll prove to you how much I liked that show, I’ll tell my wife I’m blogging about Jack and ask if she knows who I’m talking about. Be right back. Yeah, never mind, she said Sparrow. I’m blaming her MS brain on that one.
I loved the show because the only thing that was predictable is that something was going to happen. It was the kind of show where the good guys turn bad and the main characters get killed off. In later season, cast from earlier seasons would just pop up again. I loved it and never missed an episode and that was before I had a DVR.

That archway is spectacular.
ReplyDeleteI definitely knew which Jack you were talking about and am a 24 fan too, I think I still like the first season the best.
That's probably why it stuck in my memory. There were 2 of them at opposite ends of the park.
Delete1st season was the best, but I did enjoy all of them.
I have this exact picture in my files from our trip to Jackson, even bought an antler chandelier in Jackson for our dining room, where we never spend any time.
ReplyDeleteI imagine a lot of people have that pic if they've been there. It's kind of hard not to take it.
DeleteI liked Jack Bauer too. Fast-action show. I'm checking in from the a-z and getting a kick out of some of your posts. Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I'm sure you thought it was about baseball, and you were probably disappointed. :-)

Nope, been following you for a week or so now so I wasn't expecting baseball. I checked in from the A to Z Challenge as well and read a few posts, liked what I saw and put you in my reader.
DeleteOh, at first I thought "Jackson" was going to be about me since that's my real name. Jackson Hole is a nice place. I've been there a few times, but it was always work related so I didn't get to do too much.

I was a teenager so when I was there, I had to go where they took us so I really didn't see a lot either.
