Sunday Stealing #8

I ran across another one of these that I liked the questions, so here goes.

http://funnytheworld.com/

1. Last movie you watched.  Don't know if it's considered a movie or not but we watched Hamilton on Disney+ last weekend. I hate musicals but actually enjoyed this one.

2. Last movie you watched in a theater.  Star Wars: the Rise of Skywalker on January 10th.

I could answer the above 2 question because I track my movies on Letterbox.

3. A film you’ve always wanted to watch, but haven’t.  The new Invisible Man. This was going to be a recent movie because if I want to see something, I see it but we haven't watched much recently.

4. Favorite movie soundtrack.  Tin Cup.

5. Your favorite movie duo. James T. Kirk and Spock. Only reason I thought of them was because I watched a little of Star Trek the other night.

6. Movie you like because of its story.  Dragonfly

7. A film that disappointed you. Avengers: Endgame. Part 1 was pretty good, the finale didn't impress me as much as I thought it would.

8. Favorite scene from a movie. Wow, this ones tough. I think the first time I watched the Shawshank Redemption, when they lead you to believe that Andy hung himself and you know they are going to find him hanging in his cell but he's just gone. When the warden throws the chess piece through the poster. I was shocked!

9. Your guilty pleasure movie.  See above, love the Shawshank Redemption. Doesn't hurt that it's based off a Stephen King story.

10. A movie you keep going back to.  Captain America: the Winter Soldier

11. A quote you admire from your favorite movie. I have no idea. Favorite quote I could probably think of something. One I admire, nope.

12. A movie based on a true story. Eight Men Out

13. Your favorite actor/actress. There is so many to name.

14. A sequel you’re not a fan of. How about prequels, the Star Wars ones to be exact.

15. A film you know by heart.  the Shawshank Redemption

16. Your favorite opening scene.  Guardians of the Galaxy 2

17. A film that was based on a book and was executed well. This is tough because movies are never as good as the books. I'm going to go with the Shawshank Redemption (again) just because it was a short story so the movie was actually more detailed than the book.

18. A comedy film. This is 40

19. TV series you’re binging on now.  We just started season 5 of Homeland on Hulu when the wife is around. Right now I'm watching season 2 of Hanna when she's not.

20. A TV series you think is underrated. Yellowstone. It's not underrated but I don't think a lot of people watch it.

Sunday Stealing #7

I haven't disappeared, I just didn't care for the weekly posts I was doing. I like sharing what I'm watching or listening to, but I don't enjoy getting the posts together. When it becomes work, it's not enjoyable. I was happy to be posting again, just not the content.

I did see this that had some good questions so I'm doing another one of them.

http://funnytheworld.com/

Your high school graduation class of 1991.

1. Did you marry your high school sweetheart?  I didn't date anyone when I was in high school so no. My wife and I did technically go to school together though if that means anything.

2. Type of car?  My first car was a '76 Chevette but I don't remember if that's what I was driving when I graduated.

3. What kind of job?  I want to say Value Center (Big & Tall) was where I was when I graduated. I also worked at TJ Maxx but I think that was before the other. Either way, I quit it when I graduated because I started full time in a factory the day after graduation.

4. Where did you live?  Outside South Bend, IN

5. Were you popular in school?  I was the exact opposite of popular.

6. Were you in the choir/band? Nope.

7. Ever get suspended?  Nope, but I got threatened to get expelled.

8. If you could, would you go back?  Hell No!

9. Still talk to the person that you went to prom with?  Didn't go to prom so that would be hard no.

10. Did you skip school?  Remember being threatened to get expelled up there a couple of questions, that was for skipping? I was told if I missed another day, they would expel me. So I started leaving after 3rd hour and they never did anything about it.

11. Go to all the football games?  Yes. It was a family affair, we all went to the games.

12. Favorite subjects?  Gym class was my great equalizer. All those kids that picked on me, I'd make them look stupid in gym.

13. Do you still have your yearbook?  Probably somewhere, if not, my wife probably has hers.

14. Did you follow the "original" career path?  To work in a factory, pretty much.

15. Do you still have your class ring?  I think so but I have no idea where it is.

16. Favorite teacher?   Mrs. Wagner. She was also nice to me.

17. What was your style?  Comfort. T-shirts and sweatpants. I didn't care what I looked like.

18. Favorite Shoes?  I had a pair of Jordan's. Other than that, I don't remember any other pair I had. I think I had a pair of Adidas, black with the 3 stripes down the side. Not sure if that was high school or not.

19. Favorite thing to eat for lunch?  My senior year I had Pizza Hut pizza for lunch every day.

20. Favorite band?  Probably Petra or Russ Taff at that time.

21. High School Hair?  White man's afro is the explanation I always give.

22. How old when you graduated?  I turned 18 the same week of graduation.

Sunday Stealing #6

I just got back from Virginia for the week. We left on Tuesday and came back yesterday. We didn't do much "fun" stuff, it was all about spending time with family and friends. I ran off from the in-laws for a couple of days to spend time with my cousin and family outside Asheville, NC. Not much more to say about that, like I said, it was all about spending time with family and friends.

I ran into this Sunday Stealing post and liked the questions so here goes.

1. Are you satisfied with the way your life is right now?  Yeah, could always use more money but my life is way better now than any other part of my life.

3. When was the last time you ate at Burger King?  Week or two. We don't have it a lot but occasionally.
4. Do you prefer the beach or the mountains?  Mountains, not even a contest. Love the mountains, hate the beach.
5. How do you usually feel when you wake up on a morning?  Sore, very sore.
6. Would you rather take someone on a date or be taken on a date?  Doesn't make a difference to me, it's all about the time spent not the quality of the date.
7. When was the last time you wore high heeled shoes?  Um, never.
8. Vodka or wine?  Vodka, I rarely drink but I prefer hard liquor when I do.
9. How often do you cry?  Rarely do I cry cry, but I tear up all the time. I'm an emotional guy.
10. Ever had a crush on a teacher?  Probably, I would assume most boys do at one time or another.
11. Can you wire a plug?  Nope.
12. Do you wear socks to bed?  Yep, wear them all the time. My feet get cold, I get cold.
13. What is currently bugging you?  The damn teenagers in my house, or I should say 2 of the 3 teenagers in the house.
14. Can you change a car tire?  Yes, changed many of them.
15. Have you met more than ten celebrities?  No, definitely not. Can only think of 2.
16. Do you sleep naked?  Almost. I used to before kids were roaming the house.
17. What was the best music gig you’ve ever attended?  Nothing comes to mind, I've been to hundreds of concerts but nothing stands out.
18. Have you ever had sexual feelings for anyone you follow online?  Sexual feelings as in she's hot and I'd like to see her naked, sure. Sexual feelings as in I want to tap that, no.
19. Who is someone who has changed your life positively?  Cheri, she's the reason I can answer question 1 like I did.
20. Favorite city?  I guess Chicago.
21. Can you drive?  Got my license the first day the law allowed.
22. Cigarettes or alcohol?  Neither. Smoked 1 cigarette in my life. I drink alcohol but very rarely.
23. Favorite and least favorite accents?  Accents do nothing for me, as long as I can understand what they are saying, that's my favorite.
24. Did you play Red Rover when you were a child?  Yes.
25. Do you like 1980s fashion? No, only thing that should survive the 80's is the music. The rest of it needs to stay there.

Sunday Stealing #5

I haven't posted in awhile, I start to post, than I slack off. I ran across this Sunday Stealing and it was about music so I figured it'd be a good post.

Questions from Unusual Music

1. A song that gives you goosebumps.  There's a few but Watch the Lamb by Ray Boltz always does it to me. Almost Home by Craig Morgan is a more recent one that does.

2. A song you hated once but now love.  I can't think of any, there's a bunch that grew on me but I wouldn't say I hated them.

3. Do you remember your first CD?  My first CD would be a bunch of them because I had to replace all the cassettes stolen out of my car. I refused to buy CD's until I had no music to listen to. My first cassette I purchased was Emotions in Motions by Billy Squier.

4. Has your music taste changed much since childhood?  Most definitely. I hated Country, now I listen to it. I used to listen to some pop and rap, now I'm not a big fan. I can tolerate some of it but not most of it.

5. Favorite genre?  Most versions of Rock.

6. What’s a genre or style of music that you just don’t understand?  I listened to most anything so I can't think of a genre that I just can't stand.

7. Do you have a process for listening to music, such as listening to the instruments more than words?  Depends on my mood, some days I just want to jam to some loud music, other days I listen to the lyrics.

8. What’s your favorite thing about your favorite song?  It's a classic Rock song. I really get into certain songs for awhile, but they never seem to last like my favorite does.

9. Do you have a favorite decade for music?  I listen to all decades but if I had to pick a decade it'll probably be the 80's. That genre is probably in the top 3 or 4 on my playlist.

10. Can you play any instruments?  Nope

11. Do you remember your first favorite song?  Not really. I wasn't really "into" music until I was an adult.

12. What was the first concert you ever attended?  Back when I strictly listened to Christian music, I probably went to hundreds of concerts but I have no idea which was my first.

Sunday Stealing - Thought Provoking Questions

I haven't posted here very often anymore but I constantly tell myself, I should post that. Than when I get home, I never do. It would be nice if things would come to me while I'm sitting on my ass at my laptop.

I usually glance at these question every week and see if they pop out to me. These ones were going to take some thinking so I thought I would take a shot.

These are from a site called Thought Provoking Questions.

1. If you had to teach something, what would you teach?  Probably gym class, I know a lot about sports.

2. What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life?  My wife, doing and having (sorry, couldn't resist.) She is a big part of the reason that my life has been pretty good the last decade or so. She doesn't let my bullshit slide.

3. Are you holding onto something that you need to let go of?  The hatred of my ex-wife. It's not even that I hate her but I hate the fact that she doesn't absolutely nothing for her kids.

4. When you are 80-years-old, what will matter to you the most?  Family, hopefully my kids will still love me.

5. When is it time to stop calculating risk and rewards and just do what you know is right?  This is a very general question, it really depends on what it is.

6. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?  My mind, 30ish. My body, 60ish

7. Would you break the law to save a loved one?  Again, depends on who or what I gotta do. Drive over speed limit to get someone to a hospital, sure, without question.  Kill somebody because my loved one was an idiot, probably not.

8. What makes you smile?  Watching Michigan or the White Sox beat someone. My wife's when she really laughs. Watching those damn video about soldiers coming home and surprising their kids.

9. When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?  Probably, I'm lazy.

10. If you had the opportunity to get a message across to a large group of people, what would your message be?  Tolerance.

11. If the average human lifespan was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?  Hopefully I would grow up quicker.

12. What do we all have in common besides our genes that makes us human?  We all want to be loved.

13. If you could choose one book as a mandatory read for all high school students, which book would you choose?  1984, I think with our technology, it will say more today than ever.

14. Would you rather have less work or more work you actually enjoy doing?  If I enjoy it, why wouldn't I want more of it.

15. What is important enough to go to war over?  Only reason to go to war is to protect, our way of life, people, ect. Some people truly won't stop unless they are stopped.

16. Which is worse, failing or never trying?  Never trying but failing really does suck.

17. When was the last time you listened to the sound of your own breathing?  All the time, considering I can barely breathe through my nose anymore.

18. What’s something you know you do differently than most people? Keep stats of my life.

19. What does ‘The American Dream’ mean to you?  The slogan means owning a home and running your own business. What it actually means to me is having the freedoms to do what you want within the confines of the law.

20. Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton?  If I was a genius, I would play a simpleton and therefore be more joyful because I was pulling it over on everyone.

Sunday Stealing #3

I'm back. I haven't stopped doing these but I had a houseful for a weekend and then got sick for the week after so I didn't do much blogging.

1. What's the coldest temp you've experienced?     I don't know, I believe it's been below 0 here, I know with windchill it's been way below that.
2. What's for dinner tonight?     Let me ask the boss. She don't know yet.
3. Would you consider moving to Australia?     Hell no. I don't have a desire to visit any other countries let alone live in one.
4. What was your favorite subject in high school?     I guess gym. I was pretty much ignored in any class but gym. Gym was mine, nobody still knew who I was but I dominated in whatever we did.
5. How many hours a day is your tv on?     From when my wife gets up until she goes to bed. It's usually background noise if we aren't specifically watching it. She can't stand the silence.
6. Have you ever received an award?     Volunteer of the year at a nursing home when I was in High School is the only thing I can think of, other than sports trophies.
7. What's your mousepad look like?     I use a chromebook so no mousepad.
8. How many browser tabs do you have open right now?     7
9. If you are a parent, have you or did you ever put Vicks VapoRub on your children under the age of 2?     Not something we use at all.
10. As an adult, do you like the scent of Vicks VapoRub?     Couldn't tell you.
11. If you had to pick one insect to infest your house for 1 day and after that day they would just suddenly vanish, which insect infestation would you pick?     I guess ants because they don't do anything but be there.
12. What color is your underwear that you are wearing right at this moment?     Dark blue or black, can't tell over here, not much light and I have a cat sitting between my legs so I can't move much.

Sunday Stealing #2

1. Have you ever tried to learn (or re-learn) a foreign language as an adult? Which one? What worked for you?     I took Spanish for a couple of years in high school but I really sucked at it. I can still do the numbers, and a few words but that's about it.

2. Do you donate blood? Do you know your blood type?     A+, I used to donate pretty consistently but with a change in job it makes it harder to get out there. To be honest, I could probably make the time and I don't, maybe I should change that.

3. Have you ever been in a play or musical?     Nope

4. Do you use certain text or ring tones for specific people? Who gets their own? Or do you just use the default on your phone?     I have a certain text ring tone for my wife, kids, mom and my brother. It's the same tone for each of them, those are the only people who text me consistently so I know not to ignore the text for too long. Ring tone is just the default for everyone. I rarely get phone calls.

5. When did you get your first digital camera? Do you still shoot on actual film, or all digital now?     Whenever they started putting cameras on cell phones so yes, I'm all digital now.

6. What do you think someone else would say the most daring thing you’ve done is?     I have no idea, most of anything I did daring was as a kid and most of who actually communicate with me now, didn't know me back then.

7. Do you talk with your hands?     Not a lot, but I do some.

8. Given the choice in a restaurant – would you go with a booth or table (or bar!!!) for seating?     Booth, usually more padding in them.

9. What kind of milk did you drink, growing up? And now?     2% growing up, skim now. I didn't even know there were other kinds when I was a kid. I can drink them all, doesn't make much difference to me.

10. How do you keep track of all your passwords? Do you make your passwords super complicated and change them often, or use the same ones over and over?     I have a few that I use so I keep trying them until one works. At work, I have to change it every 30 days so it's the same only I change the number on the end. I'm up to 15 now.

11. Are you a note taker?     Nope, I have a pretty good memory so I usually rely on that. Not that that always works, but for the most part, it doesn't fail me, yet.

12. Do you remember what your first social media posting (or status update) was on Facebook or Twitter – without looking it up? What was it?     They were probably both along the lines of - checking Twitter/Facebook to see what it's all about.

13. Do you have a “power” song?     Not one song, I have a playlist of power songs that I jam out to in my car occasionally.

14. Do you have an eclectic mug collection, or is your stuff all matchy matchy?     Have no use for any mugs.

15. Do you have a junk drawer in your house/garage/at work/wherever?     I don't think so, that wouldn't be up to the bosses (my wife) standard.

16. Do you ever get the urge to watch a favorite scene from a movie, and watch just that scene?     Nope, I rarely watch a movie twice. I don't like knowing what's going to happen.

17. Have you ever woken up and felt guilty from a dream you had, or, mad at someone else for something they did in the dream?     Guilty, yes. Until I realized it was a dream. No to being mad at someone else's dream, they can't control that, why would I be angry. I have had dreams where someone wronged me and it takes awhile to get over in real life.

18.  How old were you when you took your first commercial flight? To where did you fly?     8th grade, maybe a Freshman. Flew to California from Indiana via Ohio, if that makes sense.

19. Are you good at keeping track of your things – or do you easily misplace them? Do you ever leave anything behind when you travel?     Comes back to the memory thing, I do pretty good and remembering where I put things. I did leave my wallet and checkbook in Virginia once, had to have them mailed back to me.

20. Is there any place you go where time seems to stand still? What is it about that place that makes it that way?     Not that my can think of. Maybe my grandma's house because there isn't much for electronics. She still uses a flip phone but she does text with it.
