Insane in the Membrane, track 11

The nice thing about working the weekends is I actually get to listen to music in the morning instead of the morning shows.  Of course, it’s only a 7 minute drive to work so it’s not like I’d want to work weekends just so I could listen to 2 songs.  But I heard this song Sunday morning, and it’s one of my favorites right now.

I really love this song, I was somewhat bullied in school.  Nothing so severe like kids are getting these days.  But I was picked on until I learned the motto I live by to this day “IDGAF”.  I’ll help you out, that would be I Don’t Give A F*ck.  Once I learned that I really don’t care what everybody else thought about me, it took away their power.

Insane in the Membrane, track 7

Now, usually, my “Insane in the Membrane” posts are music that gets stuck in my head.  Today is no different, but yet, it is.  It’s a bunch of music, crammed into one song.  Take a listen.

No, I didn’t have one of those songs stuck in my head.  I had all of them stuck in my head.  Right in a row, like on that damn commercial.  For probably 3 or 4 hours on repeat.  I even texted all the words to my wife, her response, isn’t that a commercial?  I tried switching my brain to another song, over and over and just couldn’t do it.  This was the first day, I was worried about actually going insane.

So kudo’s to the makers of the commercial as far as making it memorable, except all I could remember about the actual commercial was it was about streaming music.  I had no idea it was AT&T until I went looking for the video on YouTube.  So I’m guessing that’s a fail.  No kudo’s to you, come back next year.

Insane in the Membrane, track 6

Instead of one random post, I’m going to start posting smaller posts.  I might be able to post a little more often that way.  Maybe even post some quickies from work which is where most of my ideas comes.  I might be able to get them down before I get home and forget about them

Today’s first song is a classic 80’s rock song.  Have no idea how it got in my head, like most of the music that goes there.

At least it was a good song this time.  The next song I have no idea where it came from.  Well I kind of do.  It was really warm, if ya know what I mean.

Now if I can scratch that itch tonight.  Ya know what I mean.

I know, I’ll shut up now.

I did have this cassette, back in the day.  Silk, not the one below.  What?  Oh, my bad.  For you younger generation, this is a cassette.   We used to store music on these.  It sucked because the fastest you could record on it was twice the speed.  So it still took a couple of minutes per song.  Not like nowadays where you can transfer it instantly.  And you had to actually use that fast forward function and guess where your song was.  It was so primitive and pathetic.  But that’s how us old people had to survive the stone age.  Don’t even get me started on how we had to steal music.  We had to record,

Wait for it (can you tell I’m watching How I Met Your Mother)

the Radio (BUM, BUM. BUM)

God I feel old.  I’ve gone through 8 tracks, records, cassettes, cd’s and now digital.  I wonder what’s next.  Insane in the Membrane might become a reality, it’ll be stored in your head.

Books & Music

Holidays Are HellNot too much going on today.  I’ve been keeping up with blogs since the weekend.  I even read an actual (digital) book for about half the day on Monday.  Didn’t quite get the chance today, but I did get through all my blogs.  I’m almost done with the book so I was hoping to finish it.  I’m at 84%, which you never know how close that is because sometimes there’s other pages at the end that take up space.  It’s actually a book of short stories (4 stories) and I’m not overly huge on short stories.  But I wanted to read the 1st story (book to the left) because it was a prequel of a series that I’ve been keeping up with.  That’s another reasonA Perfect Blood (The Hollows, #10) I want to finish this book, because I want to read the new book in the series.  It’s the 10th book (book to the right) of the series and it is my favorite series ever.  The author has already said that she will stop the series after book 13 which sucks, but it is a great series if you like supernatural.  The actual genre of the series is Urban Fantasy.  So if you like witch’s, demon’s, werewolves and vampires and all that supernatural stuff.  Then go pick up the first book and start from there.  They really are a great read and the more you read, the better the books get.  So go check out “The Hollows” series by Kim Harrison.  I’ll probably do a book review of them when I finish.  I just need to either keep up with reading blogs or just set time to read books.  But I really need to start reading more.  I’ve got all kinds of books on my Kindle just waiting for me to start again.
I’m not proud to admit what song I had stuck in my head today.  Please don’t judge me by this.
Yeah, don’t know where it came from.  At least I was walking around work putting my hands to my face and saying “Vogue”.
Although in the last hour or so, I’ve had this song in my head.
I’m not sure where that came from.  But it’s certainly better than Madonna.
I need to get off here. We’re about to have supper and I still have to call all the parents on little league and let them know info about Opening Day on Saturday as well as when our first game is because they just finished schedules today.
Be sure to check out Flashback Friday this Friday.  It’s a post that I’ve been promising Red that I would get out.  It’s all typed out and ready to go.

Parents are stupid

As you know, they asked me to run one of the baseball teams at little league.  Well, the whole story is that they had 5 teams of 13-14 kids per team.  So they created a 6th team and begged me to coach.  This way, each team has 10-11 kids and every kid gets more playing time.  My team is even sponsored by the little league park, so they are paying for it just to give the kids more playing time.

I talked to the lady that helps run the park with her husband.  She said that more than a few of the parents have been bitching because their kids got moved after practicing with another team.  OK, this is an instructional league.  Which means no score is kept, you play against other teams but the rules are pretty laid back.  You can even stop the game to talk to a player and explain what he did wrong or what a better way to do it would be.  INSTRUCTIONAL.  Which means it doesn’t matter what team your on, we are all there to teach the kids.  You’ll find coaches helping the players on the other teams.  INSTRUCTIONAL.  We are here to help your kids learn the game and to get better.  Not coddle the damn parents because all your other favorite moms are on the other teams.  It’s freaking ridiculous.  It doesn’t matter if your kid had to switch teams, we don’t even keep score.  It’s INSTRUCTIONAL.  And do you know what the big problem is, the lady mentioned above called the parents, father usually answers, says yeah, no problem.  I understand, more playing time for my son, great.  Then she’ll receive a call a little bit later from the mother, bitching up a storm how her kid doesn’t want to switch.  These kids are 7-8 years old.  They don’t care what team they are on, YOU’RE the one that doesn’t want to switch.  Because you like to hang out with the other mothers on the other team.

I had one mother who I was having a conversation with, she was pleasant and curious.  She asked me if I’ve ever taught baseball.  I told her I hadn’t, because I haven’t.  Other than my kids.  I’ve been an assistant coach on my daughters team every year she’s played, which she is going on her 5th year.  I know and love this game.  I played through school and played softball for 10+ years.  I can probably teach every position, throwing and hitting.  But technically, I’ve never “taught” baseball.  She apparently called the lady and told her that I said I know nothing about the game and wanted to switch teams.

I’m really hoping a parent says something to me.  I will not hold back.  And neither will my wife, who will be sitting up there beside them while I’m coaching.  Or my mom, as far as that goes.  Parents are stupid and need to remember why their kids are playing.  And it’s not for the parents.  IT’S FOR YOUR FUCKING KIDS!!!!!

WTF Did They Just Say?

This is a special edition of WTF Did They Just Say? because I’m plugging a TV show.  If you get a chance, watch “Impractical Jokers” on TruTV.  It is hilarious.  These 4 guys who have been friends for years have to do challenges and complete them.  Each guy goes through the challenge but here’s the catch.  He’s wearing an earbud and can hear the other 3 and the challenge is, you have to do whatever they tell you, or you lose.  Here’s a clip.

Here’s another clip, if you can find this whole episode, it is hilarious.  The guy that wins steals from a lady’s plate, then she tells her husband and he comes over to him at the buffet.  Takes food from the buffet then when the guy goes to take off his plate, he smacks his hand.  The husband goes and sits down and the guy stalks him to his table and goes after his plate.  Here’s the beginning of that prank.

They do multiple challenges in a half an hour episode, then whoever loses the most challenges, has to do a dare that the other 3 decide.  Such as this.

My wife and I laugh so hard watching these.  My eyes usually hurt from wiping the tears off from laughing.  If you have a chance, you have to catch an episode of this.  I have Comcast cable and they have it On Demand, I don’t know about anybody else but if you have On Demand, look for it.  Otherwise, I believe it’s on Thursday nights on TruTV.

I stuck this on WTF Did They Just Say? because the reactions from the everyday people on here is hilarious.  Usually they are just stunned and have a look on their face that says “WTF Did They Just Say?”

Insane in the Membrane

I had a song stuck in my head this morning.  A nice, slow song.  I whistled and sang it for hours.  But the bad part was, I sang it to Adam.  He looked at me and said “I’m glad I don’t know that song”.

Damn kids these days, don’t know good music.  I offered to load it up on my Spotify but he didn’t want to hear it.

Uh Oh!

Well, I’m off to a lovely start of the evening.  Once again, I’m at the ballpark and brought my laptop with me.  I pulled up, parked the car and walked Samantha over to her diamond.  I went back out to my car and was going to move it to the outfield fence on the diamond that Samantha is practicing on so I could watch while I blogged.  But apparently, my car had other plans.  I got in and it won’t start.  It’s turning over but won’t catch.  I called my step-dad to come look at it, since I don’t know jack about cars.  I know, a guy who doesn’t know about cars, take away his man card.  Bite me!  Anyways, I’m awaiting him to arrive.  Hopefully it’s a cheap, quick and easy fix.  Cheri is really hoping so since she will have to drive me to work along with the kids to school tomorrow if not.  He’s here, be back in a few with hopefully good news.

You can’t keep my car down.  Apparently she just wanted to sit in that spot for a few minutes.  She must have needed a break from that long drive here (10 minutes).  Who knows?  But I’ve had this car for 9 years and it’s paid off so I can’t afford to have to go buy another one.  My stepdad thinks it just got flooded.  He pulled up and got out.  I figured I’d try to start it so he could see what it was doing.  And it started right up.  I apologized for bringing him out, good thing he doesn’t live far.  He said it was fine, he had the niece and nephew over so he was happy to leave for a bit.  Although, now I’m going to have to apologize for narcing him out because my mom reads the blog.  Sorry Randall.

Insane in the Membrane

Just a quick one today because I had one song in my head all freaking day.  Which is rare because I listened to my spotify for about an hour and a half and usually I’ll pick up something there and start singing it.

Good thing I work alone, it’s not a pretty song to be singing out loud.  It’s noisy enough in the factory that I can pretty much sing as loud as I want and nobody will really hear me unless they come walking up to me.  I have been know to serenade a few people when I know they can hear me.

While I was listening to my spotify (which I am listening to now) I was texting lyrics to my wife if it was a song she would know.  I only had to text her 4 songs in that hour and a half.  She wouldn’t have know most of them.  She doesn’t listen to a lot of rock so most of it was that.  Here’s what I texted her, see how well you do.

  1. “My life, would suck, without you”  She got that one right away.  She even told me the singer, I want to say Kelly Clarkson but if you would have asked before she told me that, I wouldn’t have had a clue.
  2. “And I will always love you”  Another easy one for her.  I believe her text said something about Whitney coming back to sing to her.
  3. Here’s where it got tough for her, let’s see how well you do.  First I sent “I can smell a pig from a mile away”  She accused me of calling her a pig.  So I sent “Riding at night cuz I sleep all day”  She said she didn’t know so I told her it was Kid Rock.  Then I sent “I’m not straight out of Compton, I’m straight out the trailer”.  I had to tell her it was Cowboy.
  4. This last one was easy for her, let’s see how well you do. “Let’s get rich and give everybody nice sweaters and teach them how to dance.”  She got it right away considering she introduced me to that song on a mix tape she made me.  Anybody?  It’s a great song, I’ll see if I can find it for you.

That’s all I got for you today but keep your eyes peeled for a special post coming soon, probably next.

I lied, I have more for you.  I typed this out and saved it in order to send once I got back home to an internet connection.  My phone rings, it was the lady in charge of the local ballpark.  She had tried to talk me into coaching a new team a few nights ago.  I told her that I would help out but I wasn’t sure that I wanted to be he head coach.  Well, she roped me into it.  She asked where I was.  Um, at the ballpark watching my daughter’s practice.  Great, why don’t you come on up to my office.

So now I’m coaching Trevor’s team.  While I’m excited, I’m also very nervous.  She told me that she would take care of contacting all my kids about practice and so forth.  All I had to do was coach, which is all I want to do.  She gave me phone numbers of people to call if there were any problems with the parents (not the kids, the parents).  That’s just kind of pathetic.  So now I’m busier than before.  Damn!  There went all my sitting on my couch, doing nothing time.

Jagger Set Fire to the Rain in the End, WTF?

I survived the trip to Indy yesterday.  We hit the zoo but spent a little too much time riding trains and petting sharks.  When I get the chance to upload the photos, I’ll post more about it.  I got a couple of music posts and a new “segment” that I thought of today.

Insane in the Membrane

This song was stuck in my head a few days ago, probably Friday.  Nothing special about it, I heard it on my way in to work and couldn’t get it out of my head.  This group’s first album was about the time I really started to get into rock again.  Before that, I don’t even remember what I listened to at the time.  I was working in steel construction at the time, and I rode to the worksites with the foreman and my brother (he got me the job) and they listened to rock.  So hearing it every morning, kind of got me hooked.

Linkin Park–In the End

When this album came out I loved every song on it.  Only bad part about it was it was really short.  Anything Linkin Park did for awhile, I loved.  The mix of rock with some rap was awesome and I still like songs that mix it well.

Now today was a different story.  I ended up with 2 songs in my head today.  The first song I have no idea where it came from, the second has a story.

Maroon 5–Moves like Jagger

Like I said above, I listen to rock in the mornings, so obviously this song didn’t come from there.  The bad part is about the only lyrics I really know are the “I got the moves like Jagger, I got the moves like Jagger, I got the mooooOOOOoovveesss like Jagger.”  So here I am singing those 3 lines that are all the same, over and over and over again.  Ahhhh!!!

The next song I know where it came from, I walked into the breakroom and C had it playing out loud on his phone for Mike.  I’ll get to that whole story later.

Adele–Set Fire to the Rain

Now this song, I know even less of, so while it was stuck in my head.  I kept whistling it.  I’ve probably heard in about 10 times or so, but I never committed much of it to memory.  It’s one of those songs that while I’m listening to it, I can sing a long with a lot of it, but if you ask me to sing it without it playing, I’m lost.  I do like the song, just not a song I hear much because I don’t generally listen to that type of music.  Only when I relinquish the radio controls to the wife.  Or the oldest daughter, been then you only hear half because she can’t keep it on a full song.

WTF Did They Just say?

Here’s the new “segment” I mentioned above.  I’ll throw out a short story about something really stupid I heard (or said) that day.

As I mentioned above, I walked into the breakroom and C was playing Adele’s Set Fire to the Rain on his phone.  Mike was sitting there trying to guess who was singing it.  C was saying stuff like “C’mon Mike, you should know this” and Mike was going on about how he knows country well.  Yeah he’s an idiot.  I heard “She was on American Idol” and “I even think she won”.  I just sat there shaking my head.  I looked at Mike and said “you’re a moron”.  C asked me if I knew who sang it, I said I believe it’s Adele.  And just so you know, I pulled that out of my ass.  Any other time I wouldn’t have knows who sang it.  C was like, right on, that’s it.  And then I heard Mike say this.

“I only listen to country but I change the channel when girl’s come on and sing because I like to sing to the radio and I don’t like to sing that high”

I stopped, thinking to myself “Did I just hear that right”  I had a confused look on my face then I looked at Mike and said “C’mon Mike, you know you belt on Shania Twain’s “Man, I feel like a woman” when you hear it.  I told C the only time I even list to country is if my wife is in the car, Mike says “at least someone has taste”.  I said “Does your wife like country?”  He says “yes” very proudly.  And I said “So apparently liking country doesn’t mean you have taste since she also chose your dumb ass”  At least he learned to shut up instead of making himself look more stupid, eventually.  He finally ignored me, you’d think he’d learn to just keep his mouth shut, but he’s a slow learner.

He’s one of those guys who is a freaking moron, but acts like he knows everything.  And I hate people like that.  He tries to get involved in everybody else’s conversations and throw out just bits of info, to make it look like he knows what he’s talking about.  I should also explain, there are very few people who I hate, and even fewer people that get on my nerves so bad I can’t stop my mouth.  He is both of those to me.  He just rubs me wrong and I don’t hold back when talking to him.  You would think he just wouldn’t talk to me, but as I said, he’s an idiot.

Hopefully I’ll keep this segment around, I hear all kinds of crap, I’ll be sure to relay it to this segment.  It should be fun.  I’m also thinking about a Flashback Friday that you all might enjoy.

Insane Tranny Texting

I think I’m going to have fun with these titles.  Combining all my random thoughts into one title.  Maybe I can get some more traffic with titles like that.

Granny Tranny

The lovely wife and I went out for supper tonight to celebrate her birthday.  It was a nice dinner, food was good.  Lots of food, we both left stuffed.  But we still went out for custard afterwards.  You have to have ice cream on your birthday, I believe it’s the law.  What I really wanted to tell you about was this.

2012-03-21_18-18-28_633

You can click on it to enlarge but it’s a little blurry.  When we walked in, he was sitting at the bar.  Yes, I said he.  Apparently my wife told me to look and I didn’t hear her.  We couldn’t see him from our table but I caught a glimpse of him when he went out to smoke.  At quick glance it looked like an older, and I mean older, women with torpedo boobs.  Too old to be dressing like that.

But we got a good view when he went to the restroom, which would be the door behind him.  And just to verify, he went into the men’s restroom.  I can’t imagine walking in and and there would be an old lady standing at the urinal with her dress up taking a piss.  I picture her turning and in a deep voice saying “What’s up?”.  I’m dying just typing this.  My imagination is running wild now and it isn’t pretty.  But I managed to snap this shot of him coming out of the restroom.  Even blurry, you can see what I’m saying.

While I have nothing against people who live this lifestyle, when you make it obvious, I’m going to make fun.  I’ve actually had a lap dance by a cross dresser at a gay club, while wearing a necklace with little penis’ on it.  Boy I hope family doesn’t read this blog.  It was a bachelorette party for a friend and let me tell you about a gay bar, there were about 5 bachelorette parties going on, all girls.  So about half the people in the bar, were straight females.  And as most bachelorette parties in a bar are, they were early 20’s females.  For the record, this was awhile ago.  I didn’t have shot anyways but it was nice viewing.

INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE

I haven’t had a song stuck in my head in awhile.  That doesn’t mean I haven’t had songs floating through there, but I usually only post songs that stick in there for a few hours.  For today, I only had 1 song and it was stuck in there most of the day.  I will vary over between songs from the same group but I eventually would end up back on this song.

DC Talk–Free at last.

Don’t judge me!!  You know when you’re a teenager and the music you listened to kind of sticks with you the rest of your life.  Probably something about being impressionable.  Well back then, I listened to christian music.  It still gets stuck in my head, and I have a lot of those old songs on my spotify and listen to every so often.  It’s nostalgic for me.  Any of the christian music I have on my spotify doesn’t go past probably 1991 or 1992.  Believe me I’m far from being religious now, but I do still love these songs I grew up with.  I think it scares my wife sometimes, she probably thinks I’ll revert to my old ways and start going to church, maybe go back to being a Sunday School teacher.  Yeah, I’m not kidding, I was one at one time.  She usually gives me strange looks and backs away without taking her eye off of me.  Like she couldn’t use some religion in her life.  Pfff.

WTF WERE THEY THINKING?

My wife told me about this story, then I heard about it this morning on the radio on my way to work.  They were saying it made national news.  A woman walked off a pier while texting, into the river.  2 people had to jump in after her.  If I remember correctly the guy was with her and another woman who was on the pier went in after her and kept her afloat.  Here’s the story.  I guess they should have spent some of that money they spent on PSA announcements for texting while driving on walking while texting.

I know this isn’t my sports blog, but this is funny not to share.  If you follow this story at all it will be.

Slow day of the Musically Challenged

Are you Jelly?
Today’s craving was?  Jelly Beans.  It must be spring because I was craving some Jelly Beans.  Good thing Easter is rolling around because if this craving doesn’t go away, it’ll be easier to satisfy.

WTF Parents
Have you heard about the huge protest over Nick Jr. because they took some show called “Moose and Zee” off the air.  Me neither, but the blogger over at http://stfuparentsblog.com did a 3 part post on them.  Here, here and here.  These parents are freaking crazy over their electronic babysitter.  I’ve been upset they took a show off the air, but seriously, these people are freaking nuts.  If your kids are that addicted to a TV show, the cancelling of the show is the least of your problems.  My kids have had their shows that they like to watch.  But they have never been so into a show that they even knew what time a it was on, let alone noticed they missed an episode.

Insane in the Membrane
This is starting to become a daily feature.  Which I guess doesn’t surprise me since I’m always getting stuff stuck in my head.  This morning we started off with this.
And I’m free, free fallin’
That’s really all I kept singing.  Over and over.  Tom Petty, all morning long.  Even belted it out a few times, got a few odd looks at work.  But today, I ended up with 3 songs in my head.  And I really have no clue where any of them came from.  The Tom Petty song I think I might have heard on “The Voice” last night.  But the other 2 songs, no idea.  After my first break, this is what I was singing.
sing us a song you're the piano man
sing us a song tonight
well we're all in the mood for a melody
and you got us all feeling alright
Ask Adam, he knows I had it in my head.  When I serenaded him from afar.  I like to sing the old 80’s songs to him because he’s like me and gets them stuck in his head.
And during my “happy time” as Frank likes to call it, I ended up with a 3rd song in my head.  Before I get to the song, I should probably explain my “happy time”.  When I get to work, I’m cranky, I’m tired, and I don’t really talk to anybody.  Then after my first break, I’m awake, more talkative, my usual self.  Then about 11 o’clock, I get really tired and sleepy.  Then after my lunch break, I’m wide awake and it’s my “happy time”.  I’m pumped to get the hell out of work and you can tell.  So back to the song, after break, it’s all about some Hall & Oates.
(Because your kiss) your kiss is on my list
(Because your kiss) your kiss is on my list
Because (your kiss is on my list) of the best things in life
(Because your kiss) your kiss is on my list
(Because your kiss) your kiss I can't resist
(Because your kiss is what I miss) when I turn off the light
Yeah, absolutely no idea where that one came from.  But such Is the life in the head of a musically challenged individual.

Dead, Insane, and MS

I love that title, because it all has to do with MS, but yet it doesn’t.  Continue reading and you’ll see why.

I’ll probably lose all the women readers here but did you see “The Walking Dead” last night.  That is by far my favorite show on TV right now.  And most of the guys I talk to love it.  I have yet to come across someone that said, yeah, I watched it but it wasn’t that good.  Either you haven’t watched it, or you love it.  Now the girls might be a different story.  My wife doesn’t like the gory parts and the first few episodes where they were trying to get out of the city were pretty gory.  But now that it has settled down to more of a drama, I think she likes it.  Not loves it, but she likes it.  My brother called me the other day talking about what he heard about it.  Then this morning I was commenting on a couple of posts on friends walls on Facebook about it.  I couldn’t tell you the last time I did that with a TV show.

Insane in the Membrane

I was reading blogs at work and one of them had mentioned the show “Hell on Wheels” which if you’ve seen it, is a western.  And anytime a western is mentioned, this songs kicks me in the head.

Young Guns PosterI wake up in the mornin'
And I raise my weary head
I got an old coat for a pillow
And the earth was last night's bed
I don't know where I'm goin'
Only God knows where I've been
I'm a devil on the run
A six gun lover
A candle in the wind, yeah

And of course, the chorus.

I'm goin' down in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
I'm goin' down in a blaze of glory
Lord I never drew first
But I drew first blood
I'm no one's son
Call me young gun

I love that song and I think of western’s because I love “Young Guns” and it’s the main theme song for the movie.  I had that song in my head all morning until I left work.

MS Sucks!!!

Cheri had her day cut out for her.  She had an appointment with her Pain Specialist first thing this morning, then after that appointment, she had to go to two different places to have blood drawn for two different doctors.  I don’t know how she keeps them all apart in her head.  She’ll start talking about a doctor and I usually have to stop her and ask what that particular doctor does.  Pain Specialist, Endo, Neuro, and a couple of more.  I get lost trying to figure out which one she’s talking about.

We had a meeting with a new Neurologist today.  We weren’t happy with our other one, he seemed to want to do what he wanted to do without listening to what we told him.  He was so hooked on what he wanted to do that when we would tell him that it wasn’t working, he didn’t care.  It’ll get better in a couple of week, it’s been freaking 6 months.

MSribbon2We went to a conference or meeting with a local Neurologist who is also a MS specialist.  We both really like her, she listened, she suggested things.  She took time with us, which is a main thing.  She’s going to put Cheri on Copaxone, so as soon as the insurance is cleared and a nurse shows us how to use it, she’ll start it.  Not sure why we need the nurse being we’ve done 4 or 5 different injections already so we pretty much know what we’re doing.  These will be daily so Cheri won’t like that.  I won’t like that, because I hate causing her pain (regardless of what she says) but it has to be done.

I’ve been reading some other MS blogs, patients and caregivers, and I guess I have to feel lucky because right now, she isn’t as bad as a lot of people.  And I can’t imagine these people being in more pain than Cheri is.  She hurts with everything she does, and these other people are even worse than her.  It’s a little scary to know what could happen.  Everybody has MS in different ways so she may not get any worse, but chances are, she’s not going to get any better.  And that’s what scares me the most, the unknown.  We’re doing everything we can to keep her healthy and as active as she can be.  We’ve purchased a wheelchair for those trips to the mall or someplace where we do a lot of walking.  And while I know she absolutely hates being in it, she uses it when she needs to.  We’ve taken it into the schools for functions where she knows the chairs will kick her ass.  So if anything, she’s using it to save her backass.  BTW – Backass is what we call her lower back and upper ass.  That’s where she hurts the most, and all the time.  I rub her anytime she asks and she says it helps, but it certainly doesn’t take the pain away.

So that’s where we are now.  We’ll see what happens with it.  We do a lot of that, wait and see.

Insane in the Brain

While I enjoy music, I don't love it. I'm not one of those guys who can name a bunch of songs when you give me an artist. And I don't know who all the members of my favorite band are. But I do enjoy music which is a good thing since it apparently enjoys being in my head. I know we all do this, but I'll share my day today with you.

If you don't know me, my radio is set on the local rock station. The only time I take it off that is if they are broadcasting a game or something that's not music. I have a wide range of what I'll listen to, but rock is my preference.

This morning, I came into work, and the song "Masterpiece" is stuck in my head.

“I've found a masterpiece in you
A work of art, its true
And I treasure you my love”  - Atlantic Starr

I could not tell you the last time I heard that song. But there it was, all freaking morning.

I sat in my wife's car at first break because she had brought me breakfast. I don't know if I heard this song in there or not, but afterwards, I kept hearing "Tubthumping"

“I get knocked down, and I get up again
Your never going to keep me down
I get knocked down, and I get up again
Your never going to keep me down”  - Chumbawamba

But eventually my head went back to "Masterpiece". Until I started to type this that is. I was pondering how to open this post and I was thinking about people who are really into music and this line popped in my head "MUSIC IS MY LIFE!" That would be from C&C Music Factory.

That's how it starts, I hear a few words from a song in a conversation and it kicks my brain into jukebox mode. For instance, we have a customer who's name is American Warming. Every time I read that on a ticket, I hear Lenny Kravitz belting out "American Woman"

“American woman, stay away from me
American woman, mama let me be
Don't come hanging around my door
I don't want to see your face no more”  - Lenny Kravitz

Or I did a couple of things at work, kind of brain farts if you will, and I was talking to Adam and told him I’m losing my mind.  Next thing I know, I’m walking away with this running through my head.

“Was I out of my head? Was I out of my mind?
How could I have ever been so blind?
I was waiting for an indication
It was hard to find
Don't matter what I say only what I do
I never mean to do bad things to you
So quiet but I finally woke up
If you're sad then its time you spoke up too”  - Fastball

This seems to happen a lot at work, not so much at home.  I guess my mind wanders more there.  I don’t know, all I know is some days it drives me

“Insane in da membrane
Insane in the brain”  - Cypress Hill
