If your new to this Challenge, every day of April, minus the Sundays you blog about the letter assigned for that day. To find out why I’m blogging about what I’m blogging about, then go here. Today’s letter is
Samantha’s word – Cat
I should let my wife write this one. Or you could go through my Instagram or better yet, hers because she probably has hundreds of pictures there. When we got together, Cheri had no desire whatsoever to own a pet. She likes her house to be very clean and a pet is usually the opposite of that. But Skyler talked her into getting one and we went through the process. We went to pet stores, humane society and pet refuges and Skyler held all kinds of cats. We ended up going back to the very first place we looked at a cat and she picked out a cat named Sally. But Skyler decided to name her Lux. Why? I have no idea. But we never call her that anymore, she’s called Kitty. She is pretty much Cheri’s cat now. Skyler is a teenager, and between her working, going to school, and hanging out with her boyfriend, she is never home so Cheri pretty much adopted her. Cheri absolutely loves her now and can’t even leave the house for very long without thinking about poor Kitty home all alone.
I might like her a little bit too. She has her annoying habits as well, when she’s been sleeping for awhile (and let’s face it, that’s all cats do) she’ll wake up with the urge to chew. All our shoes have teeth marks, we have to hide our cords, especially chargers, and we can’t leave any cardboard laying around. Some mornings, she comes into our bedroom and annoys the crap out of us until we open the blinds so she can sit next to the TV and look out.
But all in all, she’s a good cat. Don’t tell Cheri I said that.
Trevor’s word – Calf
I had very defined calf muscles growing up, I was athletic. What? Oh, he means baby cows. Well that’s what I always called my calves anyways, baby cows. I don’t have much to say on the word calf. Is there a thing as calf tipping? Teenagers do cow tipping, maybe pre-teen do calf tipping. If you were from a rich school, would calf tipping be giving a couple of bucks to baby cows?
The only cow story I have, that I just remembered, I’ll have to use in a Cousins post. It involves cow poop all over one of the cousins. See the A to Z Challenge is already paying off and giving me stuff to write about.
Want to know what the A to Z Challenge is all about? Check it out at the A to Z Challenge blog.
Cow poop all over one of the cousins? Can't wait to hear more about that.
ReplyDeleteThat seems to be the consensus, I'll have to get that post going.
DeleteMight bull-tipping be accomplished by people who talk a lot of bull?
ReplyDeleteI like the name of this blog. Random is good.
Thank you, I'm very random with my posts. It seemed fitting.
DeleteI'm not allergic to cats, but I've always been surrounded by a bunch of people that were. My siblings, and now a couple of my kids.
ReplyDeleteHmmm....and how does one end up with cow poop all over?
Oddly enough, and I forgot to mention it above, the daughter that picked out the cat, is allergic. We found this out later but she loves the cat so much she doesn't care.
DeleteI definitely need to get working on the cow poop post.
I see you wrote about Dog for D. I think I prefer dogs to cats (seem to be less allergic to them anyway) but I have to admit that, thanks to some cat loving facebook friends, that cats are more interesting to tell stories about, video etc. The chewing and scratching things (including human skin) do put me off having a cat and there was this horror film once...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the challenge
Cats seem to be more interesting on the internet, that's for sure. All in all, I prefer cats but I don't hate dogs so if the dog had the right personality, I would be ok with it.
