Music Monday ish

I know it's not Monday, but I was busy yesterday. I rushed home after work to get showered and dressed up to go to a viewing. I didn't really know the lady as she was my brother-in-laws (I rarely see him) mother. I probably met her at graduation parties or a wedding somewhere, but I didn't know her, know her.

Anyways, the music portion.

I exercised 6 days so I got through quite a bit of artists but I don't remember really adding much. Let's check it out.

I added 10 songs. The Mylon there in the middle I stumbled across and looked for songs last week and added some ones I weren't sure about to this playlist to listen to once I got down to them.

I also added these 5 singles that were released over the last week.

Here's this weeks stats.

  • Added songs - 15 songs
  • Total songs on the playlist now - 5,213 songs
  • Total songs listened to - 1,042 songs (up 2 songs from last week)
  • Different artists listened to - 440 artists (up 4 from last week)

Music Monday

Let's face it Music Monday just sounds good. That's why I knew today I would post about music. I may come up with some themes for a couple of days, that may help me post more often.

As I stated yesterday, I listen to a lot of music (you can follow it by clicking the LastFM graphic on the right side of this blog) and lately I've been trying to add new music and expanding my listening. I've made a playlist of songs I want to check out by going through my current Everything playlist and going artist by artist and adding 5 songs from each artist that I haven't heard before. I'm currently in the F's (I've been doing it for awhile). I've been exercising a little more in the past week so I work on this playlist while I'm working out. It preoccupies my mind so I'm not thinking about working out.

Here's the artist I went through this week and any songs I added.

As you can see, I added 13 songs this week that way. I also go through New Releases of artists I follow which is where these came from.

Both artists released new albums. I'm not a huge fan of pop but I do like a good upbeat song. I was surprised I added 4 songs from Avril.

I've also added songs randomly for various reasons.

  • Wig Wam - Do Ya Wanna Taste It (heard it as the Peacemaker theme song)
  • Trace Adkins - You're Gonna Miss This (my wife played it for me)
  • Jax - Like my Father (also from my wife, she got it from Tik Tok)
  • Mylon & Broken Heart - Heaven, Jesus, It's You & Gospel Ship (I think I was looking at Russ Taff songs and saw Gospel Ship, than searched for the version that I knew and in the rabbit hole I went. I added more songs to my Check It playlist to possibly add later, these were just the 3 that I recognized by the title.)

As you can tell, I added a few songs this week. Here's the stats for this week.

  • Added songs - 26 songs
  • Totals songs on playlist now - 5,196 songs
  • Total songs listened to - 1040 songs
  • Different artists listened to - 436 artists

That's all for today, I know it's not extremely exciting for you but maybe you found something worth listening to.

Music Monday #4

The majority of my listening comes from the playlist above. It currently sits at 3,563 songs, which is down 1 from last week. I don't remember deleting a song but sometimes songs on Spotify become unavailable so I assume that's what happened.

You can follow along with what I'm listening to at the link above.

If you follow along, then you know my numbers are way down. That's because I wasn't working up until today and between the hour in the car and listening at work, I get a lot more songs in than when I don't work. As you can tell by the graph above since I worked the last day.
  • Tuesday - 20 songs
  • Wednesday - 9 songs
  • Thursday - 17 songs
  • Friday - 23 songs
  • Saturday - 46 songs
  • Sunday - 10 songs
  • Monday - 67 songs

You get the top 11 artist this week, everybody else had 2 or less. 4 of those are Christian artists and I noticed today that the shuffle was hitting a lot from that genre.

These were the only 2 songs that I heard more than once in the last week.

Music Monday's #3

The majority of my listening comes from the playlist above. It currently sits at 3,564 songs, which is up 11 from last week. I believe I added a Christmas album from Colbie Caillet that I ran across.

I averaged 68 songs a day, which is one for than last week. I'm sure next weeks will be down since I'm not working this week.
  • Tuesday (89 songs)
  • Wednesday (100 songs)
  • Thursday (101 songs)
  • Friday (60 songs)
  • Saturday (23 songs)
  • Sunday (59 songs)
  • Monday (38 songs)

You only get my top 8 artists because there is 13 artists tied with 4 songs. As you can see by the ton of Taylor Swift songs, I've had my wife in the car with me a bunch.

I only had 1 song I heard twice this week, go figure it was a Taylor Swift song.

I'm off work this week and next so I'm sure my numbers will go way down for a couple of weeks.

Music Monday #2

I'm a slacker and I missed Music Monday yesterday. I only had a couple of hours sleep the night before and ended up fighting sleep all night so I didn't do anything. I didn't even post a Last Song of the Day and I can pump one of those out pretty quick.

The majority of my listening comes from the playlist above. It currently has 3,553 songs on it, which is 10 higher than it was last week.

The link above goes to my profile on Last.fm which is where these stats come from. You can follow what I listen to there.

I averaged 67 songs a day this past week. You can see on Saturday and Sunday my listening was up because I left the house.

  • Wednesday - 65 songs
  • Thursday - 80 songs
  • Friday - 83 songs
  • Saturday - 40 songs
  • Sunday - 35 songs
  • Monday - 78 songs
  • Tuesday - 88 songs

You get the top 16 artists since the last 9 tied. I had 310 different artists this week compared to last weeks 280. My top 3 last week aren't even on this weeks list.

Last week I only had 1 song that played twice, this week I have 2. I love that I had 467 songs and I only heard 2 twice, that's a great week for me. Both of these songs were listed on new albums so I listened to them there and realized that I already have them on my playlist (I assume when they were released as singles). I like my music with variety.

Music Mondays

If you want to see how I generally listen to music, check out the top of this post. The link above is to my A&E playlist, it currently has 3,543 songs on it. It's what I listen to most of the time.

In case you don't know what the above link is, it's a website that tracks the music you listen to, which is where these stats all come from for the last week. The link goes to my profile.

Let's start with how many songs I listened to in the last week. It's hard to see the numbers so here you go.
  • Tuesday - 61 songs
  • Wednesday - 83 songs
  • Thursday - 77 songs
  • Friday - 102 songs
  • Saturday - 27 songs
  • Sunday - 9 songs
  • Monday - 118 songs

I generally average 60-80 songs at work, depending on what I got going on, like meetings and such. Friday was higher because the line was short so I racked/unracked a bunch. Today was higher because the line was short again so I ran wastewater. As you can see, I don't usually listen to a bunch on the weekends unless I go somewhere.

Out of the 280 artists I listened to over the last week, these are the top 10, technically 14 because of the tie for 8th included so many artists. Brett Young is fairly new to the playlist so I'm guessing that's why his songs keep popping up. John Legend is on there for a bunch because I just added his Christmas album.

Out of the 476 songs I listened to, the above song is the only one that I listened to more than once and it was only twice, and that was a week apart. Tuesday last week and then again today. That's how I like it, I hate hearing the same songs over and over.

If you've been around here before then you know the above blog is where I post the last song that I listened to. Here's links to the last weeks posts. I have 983 songs on the blog.

That's it, a look into my life as far as the music goes. Follow me on last.fm and you can see everything that I listen to.

Week #12 of 2017

I'm blaming the fact that I worked over 60 hours this week for not posting any. It's probably not true but it's a legitimate excuse. Just don't let anyone in my family know that I complained about all those hours because my brother averages that every week and I get no sympathy, they just compare my normal week to his. In case you haven't read my tweets in the last couple of weeks, he's the better brother.

My hours will go back to normal next week. We had inventory on Friday and Saturday. For some reason, we had to work 10 hours on Monday and Tuesday to "prepare" for inventory. I was supposed to work normal hours Wednesday but the 2nd shift guy called in so I stayed over. Normal hours on Thursday, then Friday was scheduled 12 hours and Saturday they didn't let me go home until 13 1/2 hours later. Most of that time was sitting on my ass but it still wasn't very relaxing.

Day 83 (Lake Mills, WI - 257.5 Miles)
I'm out in the middle of nowhere so not much going on. It's finally warmed up to the 60's and 70's but it's been raining. Also, I worked a lot so not much extra walking last week. Hopefully, next week I'll be able to go walking after work and make up all those weekends. At least I only have to make up one day this weekend since I worked yesterday.

This was posted to my Random Thoughts Facebook page.

That win was nice, but it was the last one.

I swear I forget something every Monday. Either my biscuit or silverware for my lunch.

I don't care if we lost, you always have to represent. Although, that hat is now gone. Someone stole it Friday night because I leave it at work. It was a ratty work hat so I'm not sure why someone wanted it.

I thought it was funny.

I support pretty much everything that has to do with the Wolverines.

He's usually hiding in his room all evening but he was out here talking our ear off.

They fuck you in the drive-thru

Heard it again, I wonder if there will be a week that I don't hear it.

Ignore that 54 floors, it's never right. It's usually to low but one day said I had 20 some floors and it was my normal day where I get 5 to 7.
