* the “genres” listed are my own timeline of music which you’ll find here. If you want to know a quick story of the genre, (Why the hell is he listening to that?) then click the genre link to go back to the timeline page. (My genres are classic, 80’s, Christian, hip hop/rap/90’s, rock/alternative, Virginia song, before spotify and spotify.
**Any pictures of album covers denotes that I owned it at one time in my life.
Beatles, the – I love the Beatles music. Sadly, they don’t allow their music on Spotify so I have to use a cover band again. They do a decent job, most songs you can’t tell unless you really listen.
Beyonce – I’m not a huge fan of Beyonce (other than her looks) but “I Was Here” has great lyrics.
The sad thing is, that isn’t my favorite song by her. I mentioned in my music timeline that my wife made me a CD when we were dating. Halo was the first song on it and I pretty much fell in love with all the songs on it the first time I heard them. Except the couple songs that I already knew.
Billy Squire – I definitely have some history with Billy Squier. He had the first album (cassette) that I ever bought myself. I love, love, love “the Stroke”. So much that I jam Eminems “Berzerk” because it uses the Stroke’s background music.
Bon Jovi – Who didn’t have the “Slippery When Wet” album? I like a lot of their songs but my favorite is ‘Blaze of Glory” and that’s mainly because I love the movies “Young Guns” movies.
Bonnie Tyler - One of the best 80’s song of all time.
Boys Like Girls – I don’t know much about the group but what I do know is this song was track 2 on the CD that Cheri made for me in our dating years.
Boyz II Men – I loved Boyz II Men in my hip hop days. I loved the CooleyHighHarmony album and listened to it all the time. I also loved “End of the Road” when it was released as a single.
Bryan Adams – I really liked Bryan Adams in the 80’s. My favorite was “Summer of ‘69” and I probably still know the whole song. I also really liked “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” because I liked the Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves movie.
In this section, I’ll figure out my favorites from this post and maybe some other stuff.

You need more Band Perry!
ReplyDeleteI had to go play the song when I was doing the post just to see what it was. I'm just not that familiar with them.
DeleteOnce again I had to run over to my playlists to see what B-s we shared. I have Barry Manilow, Bette Midler (love the Rose and Wind Beneath my Wings) The Beatles, and Blondie The Tide Is High......love that beat!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's because I grew up with Blondie or what, but I love the Tide is High and I always loved the rap part in Rapture. I remember listening to those as a kid.
DeleteGreat compilation! Lots are in my life's playlist. I definitely own a subset of these. (yeah, Billy Squire! Booker T!, Black Sabbath! Blake Shelton, Boston and more) On my list, but not yours Beastie Boys, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Bob Marley and a few others. Thanks for a cool look into your list!
ReplyDeleteSome artists I just haven't thought of to add. I will be hitting up the Beastie Boys and B.B. King as I know they have songs I like. Actually I'm surprised I hadn't thought of Beastie Boys.
DeleteSome of the ones you list for B are some of my absolute favorites. For example, the first concert I ever went to was for Billy Idol. I also really love Billy Joel, and many others in the list. I guess I'll just say the one I dislike the most: The Beach Boys. I know, I know... I'm probably weird. I just really can't stand any of their music, even though I love the beach. :)
ReplyDeleteRandom Musings from the KristenHead — B is for 'Believe' (and Behold the Beguiling Beauty of the Beach)
I think Beach Boys are a love them or hate them kind of band. I guess I just heard them enough growing up, I can listen to their songs in a mix, I don't know if I could handle a whole CD of their music, that's just a little too much Beach Boys at once.
