Since I’ve been combining my WWW Wednesdays and Stacking the Shelves into one post, I’ve decided to rename the posts to Written Word Wednesdays.
WWW Wednesdays #30
To play along, I’m supposed to answer 3 easy questions.
What are you currently reading?
Day Soldiers (Day Soldiers #1) by Brandon Hale
Technically, I haven’t started it yet, but it’s next on the list.
What did you recently finish reading?
Children of the Fog by Cheryl Kate Tardif
I gave this 5 stars, it was really good. The Fog is a serial abductor who kidnaps children. But when Sadie stumbles on her child being kidnapped, she’s forced to keep quiet or he will kill him. But when her husband finds out what she knows, all hell is broke loose. As Sadie struggles to deal with the death of her son, she stumbles on something so much worse.
I gave this 4 stars but it was pretty good as well. It was a cross between Groundhog Day and Day of the Dead. But what I liked about this book was it gives the reason for the zombies and also a chance to contain it so it doesn’t become an apocalypse. It gets a little old at times, the repeating, and it’s the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars.
The Hunger Games (the Hunger Games #1) by Suzanne Collins
Catching Fire (the Hunger games #2) by Suzanne Collins
Mockingjay (the Hunger Games #3) by Suzanne Collins
I actually purchased this as the trilogy for $.99. I gave all of them 5 stars. After reading the first book, I went back and watched the movie again. The book is definitely better, so much better, but I’ll still see the second when it comes to DVD. I won’t go into a real review since we pretty much know what these are about.
Prison Nation (Prison Nation #1) by Jenni Merritt
I gave this one 4 stars. In a new America, or the Nation as it’s called. If your parents are in prison, you grow up in the prison as well where you learn to be a person of the nation. When you turn 18, you are released into the nation to become a free citizen, but are you really free?
The Unwashed Dead (Zombie Armageddon #1) by Ian Woodhead
I gave this only 3 stars. While it was a zombie book, it was a little all over the place. The story was good but I felt like it could have been told better.
What do you think you’ll read next?
A Vow Of Tears by Jill H. O’Bones
A vampire book, it has been awhile.
