My new project

There hasn’t been anything really going on and I haven’t felt much like blogging so I haven’t.  I’ll try to be better.  It will go with my latest “online” project anyways.

This will sound stupid to a lot of you, if not all, but it’s what I do.  I started a new blog, don’t get excited, only members can view it and I will be very selective as it is all about my family and life.  So if you’re a family member or close friend, ask me and I’ll send you an invite (I’m not expecting anyone to ask, maybe my mom, that would be all that reads this.)  Basically, I’m combining all my social media into one blog.  Here’s the info at the top of the blog.

In a world of everything being online, I'm going to try to compile the life and times of myself from all my social media accounts into 1 place. It's definitely a long term goal and I would like to eventually be caught up to just add daily, but until then, there'll be multiple posts a day. You can check out the labels at the bottom of the page.

First I went to Shutterfly and transferred all my older photos to the new blog.  I tagged them all with the year they were taken and tagged everybody in them.  So I can go to the blog and click on my mom’s name, or grandmothers, and see every photo with them in it.  Or I can click the year and see everything for that year, or just click the photograph label and view only pictures.  I was born in 1973 but my photos start in 1978 and so far, I’m up to 2009.  I also tagged them all with Shutterfly so I know where they are online.  Once I got to 2008, May 22nd, 2008 to be exact (the day I signed up with Facebook), I started to add anything I’ve posted on Facebook.  If it’s a photo I copy it over, if it’s a status, I screen cap it and post it as well.  On March 31st of 2009 (the day I signed up with Twitter), I started adding any tweets from Twitter that I posted.  As I get later in those years, I’ll add other stuff.  Here’s my start dates for all my social media that I may be adding.

I haven’t decided what all I’m going to be adding, I will probably do everything up there but I think for the blogs, I’ll just provide a link rather than the whole content, other than personal photos, we’ll see.  I’m playing it by ear and hoping I have it figured out by the time I start hitting the blogs.

Why am I doing this?  Well for one, it would be nice if it was all centrally located into one spot.  What I’m hoping is when I’m gone (dead) that my kids or family can have a place to come and learn about me.  I realize that this will probably never be an issue but I think because my father died when I was only 8, I only have a few memories and whatever stories I’ve heard about him growing up, I feel like I don’t really know him much.  I guess this is my way of leaving some kind of legacy.  With all the online content that’s being put out there, why not keep all of mine in one spot.

Welcome to my 200th post, this will by far be my best post ever!  Not really, I just happened to notice I was at 199 otherwise this post wouldn’t have happened.  Technically, I created this blog long before I used it as more of a journal to my everyday life as I use it now.  The blog it is today, this would only be post 119.  But I don’t erase anything, I’m not ashamed of where this blog has come.

I’ve gone from 1 follower (my wife) to 17.  I know that’s nothing compared to other bloggers out there, but I appreciate the fact that 16 people who don’t know me, check out my blog on a regular basis.  So I thank those that follow.  I also realize that I may have other readers who actually follow on feed burners and such who don’t actually click the follow button (my mom),  Me personally, I always click the follow button on other blogs that I read in my feed burner just because I know how much it means to me when I have followers.  But to each his own.  I write this blog for myself, for something to turn back to when I’m all grown up (yeah, I’m still growing) and I can flip through stories of my life.  Everybody wants to publish a memoirs, but my life is boring, so these are my memoirs.

I have no reason to stop blogging and have no plans to do so.  As you can tell, I don’t publish daily and I publish at all times of the day.  I post for myself, but I’m glad you all are along for the ride.

My other main blog is about sports cards.  I still collect baseball cards.  Told you I was still growing up.  This is another Blogger blog.

This is the brother blog to the other above.  It is a picture only blog.  I post all kinds of pictures from MLB, NCAA, NFL, NBA and anything else sports related I come across including my sports cards.  This is a Tumblr blog.

This is my newest blog, also a Tumblr blog.  It is also a picture only blog but I post all kinds of things that I enjoy.  Here are all the tags I’ve used so far to give you an idea of what I post.  Alyson Hannigan, Anne Hathaway, Batman, the Big Bang Theory, Bruce Lee, Family Photos, How I Met Your Mother, Michael Clarke Duncan, Michael Jordan, Michigan Wolverines, Miscellaneous, Muppets, Star Wars, Supernatural.  I don’t post a lot here just because I don’t really run across a lot to put on there.  But I enjoy it when I come across something.

Only watched 1 movie this week to review but it was a good one.  Watched the end of Meet Joe Black and all of Legends of the Fall on AMC today but I only review movies I haven’t seen.  I take that back, I watched a movie yesterday that I need to review.  But it wasn’t anything spectacular, contrary to what everyone is saying.

the EX

I have some bitching to do about theEx, but I’m so tired of her being apart of my life.  And I’m tired of complaining about her.  I’ll just leave it at, I took her weekends away today.  She’s going back to the court appointed every other weekend and 1 evening a week.  I’m tired of fighting with her stupidity and this will give me less time for her to piss me off.  But that’s all I’m going to say about that.

WTF was I Thinking?

I really need to start taking notes throughout the day.  I remember thinking, that would make a good blog post, but by the time I sit in front of the computer, I’ve forgotten what I was going to write about.  Of course, that could just mean that the idea I had wasn’t that good.  So maybe that’s a good thing.

MS Sucks!

My wife had to go lay down today, it’s seeming to become a Sunday theme.  I’m wondering if she’s just getting out of having to meet theEx to get the kids back.  If so, I’m going to start napping so she can go because I don’t want to see her either.  I hate that she has to take naps.  Actually, she hates that she has to take naps.  She fights them all the time, I’m not sure why.  She gets fatigued and she can’t fight it.  She feels bad about having to nap and I think she feels guilty about it but I keep telling her it’s fine.  If that’s what she has to do to keep her body as healthy as it can be, then more power to her.  I know she’s not napping because she’s lazy.  She has no choice.  But as much as I tell her not to fight it, she still does.  Then feels guilty about it.

I understand the MS kicks her ass once in awhile.  I understand on the pain meds kick her ass once in awhile.  She has no reason to feel guilty.  But she does.  I guess that goes towards her character, but if she quits fighting it and lays down she’d feel better quicker.

Weekly Catch up

I really need to redo my blog roll as I follow a lot more blogs.  I’ve spread out my blog reading away from sports and started reading other blogs.  I’ve gotten into some of the parenting blogs.  Not your usual, this is how you raise your kids, but more, actual stories and happenings in (usually) a mother’s life.  I really only follow them if they add humor along with their posts.  Those blogs have actually inspired me to blog a little more, which is why I have been getting more written posts here.  But more on that later, I though I would do a weekly catch up here, once a week or so, and plug my other blogs that I dabble with.

As you can see, I spend a little time blogging.  These don’t even include a few others that I do privately for myself.  My sports Obsession has been around for almost a year, Random Thoughts from a Random Guy has been around for a little over a year but it has transformed a few times on what exactly I was doing with it.  Dennis started Too Many Manninghams and I started Laws Reviews and My Sports Obsession Tumblr on the 1st of this year so they’ve only been around for a few months.

I enjoy writing blogs, and hopefully I will have some good content for this blog in the future.  I have some ideas on what I’m doing here, now I just hope to generate some followers so it actually feels like I’m sharing with somebody.  I’ve only gotten 1 follower other than my wife on this blog and I picked him up because he’s a friend on Facebook.
