A to Z Challenge - Y

If your new to this Challenge, every day of April, minus the Sundays you blog about the letter assigned for that day. To find out why I’m blogging about what I’m blogging about, then go here. Today’s letter is

Samantha’s word – Yoyo

I used them sparingly as a kid, I could do them but none of the tricks so it really wasn’t anything special to me.  I’m just glad Samantha didn’t put Yolo.  I want the people who use that phrase to say it right before they do something really stupid and then end up dead, then I can go to their funerals and say “Well, you called that one didn’t you, dumb ass”.  Not really, but kids and their shortening of everything is annoying.

Trevor’s word – Yak

Yaketty Yak, and don’t talk back.  That’s what I think of when I hear the word Yak, not the animal.  And when I hear that song, I think of the movie “Stand by Me”. When I think that movie, I think of how awesome Stephen King’s books are.  I’m sure some of you didn’t even realize that it’s based on a Stephen King short story.  Just like some of you probably didn’t know the greatest movie of all time “The Shawshank Redemption” was also based on a short story by Stephen King.  But most of you know that “The Green Mile” was.  So for all of those people who say Stephen King books scare them, he writes all kinds of different things.  He is by far my favorite author and I’m looking forward to watching “Under the Dome” this summer on TV.

  1. I just bought my husband a yo yo. Two boys had them in church recently (Ha-yes, in church...playing before the service started), and it reminded hubs he liked yo yos when he was a kid. He knows a few tricks...it comes back to you.

    1. I can give you a whole list of things that kids do now that annoy me. I'm becoming that cranky old man.

    1. I would think he knows something about writing. For awhile there he was putting out a couple of books a year.
