A to Z Challenge - H

If your new to this Challenge, every day of April, minus the Sundays you blog about the letter assigned for that day. To find out why I’m blogging about what I’m blogging about, then go here. Today’s letter is

Samantha’s word – Hat

“One day I’m a mother, one day I’m a lover, what am I supposed to do, hats” – Amy Grant

That’s actually the first thing that pops in my head when I hear the word hats.  A song about all the hats we wear.  If you see my profile pic over there in my Twitter feed, I wear hats.  I used to wear them a lot, not so much anymore.  I used to wear them all winter long, but now I wear a toboggan or a stocking hat to keep my bald head warm and only break out the hats when it’s semi-warm out and even then, most of the time, I just go without.

I do have a bunch of them, Michigan, White Sox, Colts and a few others but mainly my sports teams.  And yes, I have a stocking hat of all 3 of those teams as well.  Although, since Trevor has a fat head, he stole my Colts one.

Trevor’s word – House

We are doing the last few steps before we will be able to buy a house.  Waiting for my credit score to go up and it’s almost there, so hopefully, this summer, we will be buying a house.  We’ve already found what we consider the perfect house for us, the problem is, it’s for sale now and we are hoping it holds out until summer.

I want to give my kids a stable home, they have never had one.  I lived in the same home from 2 months old until I moved out when I was 20.  Which is the very definition of a stable home.  Let’s see if I can count all the places that I’ve lived since I had my first child, Samantha in 2002.  1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.  That doesn’t include the 4 places theEx has lived since we split in 2009.  On the plus side, since I’ve gotten divorced from her, I had my apartment and then Cheri and I got a place and we’ve been here for almost 3 years.  We plan on staying here until we get a house just for a little bit of stability.  And we plan on dying in the house we buy so we are making sure it is the one we want.

  1. I remember a great book by Dr. Seuss called "The Five Hundred Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins." Have you read that one? I bet your kids would love it.
